The Crown, Serving real ale since the 18th century.

The Crown Inn is a grade II listed building. The original part of the building was built in the 11th Century. This was where the Flint Knappers lived whilst they were building St Nicholas’s Church which still stands directly opposite the pub now.

By the 16th Century The Crown became the local court house.

In the 18th Century The Crown acquired an ale licence and became a coaching inn. Just after the Second World War, an extension was built on the right hand side.

There is still much history to see in the pub. If you enter through the front door and turn right and look at the furthest window top pane of glass, you will see an engraving from 1948.
